This delicious candy bar, the closest to Grandma's recipe, is a unique Southern delight. Its origins can be traced back to the early 1900s in the U.S., with a version dating back to 1915. It's believed that the popular use of corn syrup as a sugar substitute may have influenced its creation, leading to its heavenly taste. And unlike other sweets, the true origins of its name are still shrouded in mystery. Some say it was simply dubbed "divine" by the first person to try it, and the name stuck. Now a beloved Southern treat, it has spread to the North and can be found in many cookbooks.
