A&W Root Beer began in 1919, at a parade honoring returning World War I veterans in Lodi, California. Roy Allen set up a roadside drink stand to offer a new thick and creamy drink, root beer. His creation was such a success, he decided to take on a partner, Frank Wright. In 1922, Allen and Wright combined their initials to name the beverage A&W Root Beer.
For a time in the 1960's and 1970's you could only get A&W Root Beer on tap in an A&W Restaurant. In 1971 A&W cans and bottles were introduced to the masses and were a huge hit in Arizona & California. Distribution was then extended to the rest of the nation.
A&W Root Beer is a smooth and creamy root beer with not a lot of carbonation. A delicious, traditional root beer.
12 oz glass bottle
**Please note - Shipping is very expensive due to the weight of the glass bottles. As an estimate, to order one soda the shipping charge is roughly $6-7. The shipping charges become more economical if you order in multiples (4+ sodas).**
